We are committed to the health and wellbeing of our students, staff, and families and are closely monitoring the situation, along with other school districts and with the Flathead City-County Health Department and Office of Public Instruction. Our schools are receiving information daily and sometimes hourly. We will continue our coordinated efforts.
Dental practitioners are seeing some concerning situations with children's dental health as a result of the COVID-19 shutdowns.
For example, dental professionals have seen children coming in with their faces swollen, stemming from an infected tooth. Parents are not bringing their child in because they know that dental offices are generally closed, or they are worried about contracting COVID 19 by coming in and children are suffering longer than they should.
Dental offices ARE
- Generally closed
- Seeing URGENT/EMERGENCY patients
- Using very careful and specific protocols to keep patients safe if the need to come in
- Welcome having families call with questions, perhaps text or email a picture, etc - to determine whether or not they need to have more than a 'virtual' appointment.
